Welcoming Jesus !

Hi

In the first Gospel reading we hear how Jesus entered Jerusalem.

Crowds and crowds of people welcomed Jesus as he entered Jerusalem.

The people were so excited and happy to see Jesus they took down palm leaves from the trees and laid them in the road before him as they shouted with joy.

Imagine being there the excitement of seeing Jesus who they adored.

Just as the people welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem so we welcome Jesus into our lives through the people we meet.

God made all of us.

Jesus is in all of us.

Every time we meet someone and we welcome them, we are welcoming Jesus.

It's wonderful to be welcomed by others it makes you feel loved and that you belong.

Jesus welcomes us too through our prayer and wants us to be close to Him.

We can make people feel welcome by the love and happiness we share with others.

The theme for the week is welcoming, welcoming Jesus through the love and kindness we share with others.

The first picture you might like to try was made by reading through the First Gospel reading for this Sunday highlighing words and phrases that stand out for you and then on a large sheet of paper drawing leaves of a palm and writing the phrases between. Then colouring the leaves of the palm in different patterns.

The second idea is to paint a picture based on Palms letting the brush strokes dance freely.

The third idea is to make a Hosanna picture for your home.

The fourth idea is to make some little bags and tie them to a stick and each day of Holy week to write a prayer and put it in a little bag and offer it up to Jesus.

I hope you find something to inspire you

Remember welcoming others makes our lives richer and more fulfilled

love Sister Mary Rose
